Funding for SIMEST internationalization: financing of feasibility studies

Simest offers a financing program to Italian companies, for the realization of feasibility studies aimed at evaluating the opportunity to make a commercial or productive investment in non-EU countries. In particular, the program is intended for single or aggregate companies that must form a “Subject Network” and that have filed at least two financial statements for two complete financial years with the Business Register. The feasibility study to be financed must concern the same sector of activity of the applicant company or of its belonging Group and companies operating in the sectors of activity excluded pursuant to art. 1 of EU regulation no. 1407/2013.

The loan provides for a subsidized rate of staff, travel and accommodation expenses for the preparation of feasibility studies related to productive or commercial investments in non-EU countries. For internal staff, only travel, accommodation and travel allowance expenses are allowed; for external personnel expenses for remuneration, travel and accommodation are allowed. The loan can cover up to 100% of the budgeted expenses, up to 15% of the average turnover of the last two years. A maximum amount of € 200,000 can be financed for studies linked to commercial investments and € 350,000 for studies linked to productive investments. An initial disbursement is envisaged as an advance payment of an amount equal to 50% of the approved loan and made within 30 (thirty) days from the date of fulfillment of any conditions precedent (including the delivery of the guarantee). These conditions must be met, under penalty of revocation, within 3 months from the date of completion. The second payment of the balance of the reported amount, for a maximum amount equal to the remaining 50%, is made on condition that this amount exceeds the amount already paid. The loan has a duration of 4 years, of which 12 months of pre-amortization.
